Edna and her husband Scott demonstrate a true example of the type of funeral homes we think should be featured and spotlighted for the rest of the funeral industry to see. We could tell their story, but we think it comes best from Edna herself.
“Opening a Funeral Home in a 2-red light town was, to some in the industry, ‘insane’-so it was a good thing my husband, Scott Whitehead, LFD did not hear the comments or laughter of his peers. After working in the industry for 15 years for other firms, he felt families and their friends sometimes left a funeral or memorial service wondering who’s service they had just attended. Helping families handle those details of creating a lasting tribute about their loved ones was a driving force for opening Faith Funeral Home in 2003.”
“Faith Funeral Home was the first in our area to create fully customized funerals and memorial services based on the life, hobbies and vocation of the person we were honoring. Scott has a saying: ‘If it is not illegal or immoral, we will do it for the family’—for example, if they are a golfer, we will rent the country club; a farmer, we will go to the farm; a fisherman, we will have the boat at the service… Genealogy style videos with coordinating memorial folders, after all it IS about the person being honored!”
“Families noticed and each year we continue to grow. It’s because Faith Funeral Home staff and owners feel every life should be celebrated with memories solely about them.
Oh, and did I mention our peers have also noticed …..and no one is laughing. Funeral Service is about SERVICE to our families and no detail is too small.”
